| Hospitality Hotshots
is a one year program developed in partnership
with Outlook Vic and Momentum Personnel. It is
a project funded by DHS (Department Of Human Services)
for FFYA (Futures For Young Adults) participants
currently in co-horts one to eight.
Why was Hospitality chosen? The Southern Eastern
region of Melbourne has currently got the second
fastest growing population rate in Australia and
with the rapid growth of business in these areas
including restaurants, pubs, clubs, café’s
and shopping centres, a demand for hospitality
is on the horizon.
A total of eight participants will be selected
for the program through a process of selection
criteria and interviewing. Following the initial
intake we will deliver pre-employment training
in the area of hospitality. Five main areas will
be covered.
• Coffee making
• RSA (responsible serving of alcohol)
• Basic food handling
• RSG (responsible service of gaming)
• Cert 1 in work preparation
When the required qualifications
are completed we will then provide support to
gain work experience and or employment in the
field of hospitality. Support will also be provided
with job application and further on the job support
if needed. Hospitality is one of the most rewarding
and enjoyable occupations. Hospitality suites
any motivated and bubbly individual who enjoys
meeting new people. It is an occupation that can
be used the world over and Hospitality Hotshots
is a program that will provide all participants
the equal opportunity to develop skills from a
basic level through to management.
At this stage in the program we
have two participants attending the intake process.
On Friday the 8th of September a meeting is being
held for all service providers to attend who will
view various programs in the region including
HOTSHOTS. From this meeting potential participants
will be referred to us for intake.
Do you know anyone who wants to be a HOTSHOT?
